S.T.A.R. PUPPY PROGRAM |

The STAR puppy classes are designed for all breeds of puppies up to 12 months of age. Throughout the seven week classes, you will begin to understand your newest family member, solve problems, answer questions, introduce obedience commands and have fun! Obedience commands consist of: Sit, Down, Loose Leash Walking, No Jumping Up, and Come when called. Each class begins with a group discussion on an informative subject such as nail trimming, toys, crate training, or skin and ear care. Introduction to Puppy Agility Obstacle course is presented as well!
Puppies that successfully complete this class can earn the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy distinction and will receive a certificate from the AKC and be listed in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy records at the AKC. (Click on the logo for more information.)

This 8 week course focuses on reviewing and strengthening basic commands, as well as teaching your dog to Heel. Basic commands such as: Sit, Down, Come, Wait, and Stay are reinforced and some new commands are added to improve your dog's overall knowledge and performance. This course offers a great way to gain greater control of your dog and sharpen response to commands. Techniques taught in class will also expand your training options to include competition obedience, agility and more!
Requirements: Any dog age 6 months or older.

There are two types of Sub-Novice/Novice classes. The structured Sub-Novice Class is an 8 week class and focuses on attention, more concise heeling, along with introduction(s) to the different levels of Obedience competition (i.e. Open and Utility) for A.K.C. and U.K.C., and prepares you and your dog for its CD title in obedience trial competitions. On the eighth week of the structured Sub-Novice class, testing for the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification will be offered at no additional charge.
If you do not wish to commit to an 8-week session and are familiar with the Novice level exercises, we offer on-going/drop-in classes. These classes are designed to work on the standard Novice level of Obedience. The exercises that will be focused on are off-lead heeling, stand for exam, recalls, and long sits and downs.
Requirements: Must have Basic Obedience or equivalent training.

OPEN AND UTILITY CLASS |
| COST: $10 per class, drop-ins welcome

This class is an advanced, competition-level class, but you don't need to have competition goals to train your dog in advanced obedience. The more you work with your dog, the more your dogs knows, the stronger the bond and the better the behavior. These classes reflect consistent training off lead, directed jumping, retreiving, scent work and out-of-sight long sits and downs. This class will prepare your dog to compete for CDX, UD, UDX and OTCH titles in obedience trial competitions.
Requirements: Must have Sub Novice & Novice Obedience or equivalent training.

RALLY OBEDIENCE |

Rally Obedience is a mixture of obedience and agility. The team of dog and handler on leash move continuously and perform the exercises indicated by the sign at each location. After the judge's "Forward" command, the team is on their own to complete the entire sequence correctly. Unlimited communication to dog from handler is encouraged. Higher levels will be off leash and have jumps as well. This class will prepare you and your dog for competition at Rally Obedience trials, but you don't have to have competition goals to particpate in this class.
Requirements: Must have Sub Novice Obedience training.

THERAPY DOG CLASS |
| COST: $60 for 6 weeks

With your help, your canine companion can bring joy and comfort to those in need. Our club is now offering a 6 week Therapy Class for you and your companion dog. This class is designed to teach you the necessary skills for handling various situations when visiting in a therapy capacity. The class emphasizes safety for both you and your canine, along with proper control of your canine while out working in the community.
Upon completion of this course, you will be better prepared for the Therapy Test. Schedules for testing evaluators for TDI or Project Pup will be available. Information on programs that are in need of registered Therapy Dogs will also be available.

JUNIOR HANDLER BASIC OBEDIENCE |

This class is only open to junior handlers ages 8 to 17 years. This 8 week course focuses on reviewing and strengthening basic commands, as well as teaching your dog to Heel. Basic commands such as: Sit, Down, Come, Wait, and Stay are reinforced and some new commands are added to improve your dog's overall knowledge and performance. A parent or guardian must attend all classes as well.
Requirements: Any dog age 6 months or older.
